Brief History

St Oswalds High School was established in 1982 as a secondary school under the authority of Anglican Diocese of Harare (CPCA). It was developed into a boarding school in 2018 and continues to offer quality, productive and innovative learning to both day and boarder students. The trajectory of development has been noted in the period.

Curriculum:
St Oswalds High School follows a curriculum that adheres to national educational standards while incorporating additional subjects and activities that reflect the school's values and mission. The school in line with Heritage Based Curriculum (2024-2030) has broadened the Academic curriculum to include Pure Science subjects and Tech-Vocational courses. Leaners now have Pure science subjects of Biology, Chemistry and Physics at both Ordinary and Advanced Level. In addition, to the already existing practical subjects of Agriculture, Textile Technology and Design and Building Technology and Design, the school also offers Computer Operations and Packages and Garment Construction which are (HEXCO) courses to formal and non-formal learners.

Extracurricular Activities:
In addition to core academic subjects, St Oswalds emphasize on extracurricular activities enhances students' overall development. The school has an emerging co-curricular program. Learners are enrolled into various clubs which include Master Chef, Interact, Media, Leo and Dance. Sporting activities have brought various trophies in the fields of Handball, Volleyball, Soccer, Netball and athletics on NASH and ASSA competitions over the past 3 years. .

Exact Location:
St Oswalds is located in Zimhindo Village, Ward 3 Mhondoro-Ngezi District Mashonaland West Province Zimbabwe.

Spiritual Education:
Given that St Oswalds is an Anglican Church's religious affiliation, spiritual education is often an integral part of the academic offering. Students may receive instruction in religious studies, engage in chapel services, participate in prayers, and learn about Christian values, ethics, and traditions. The aim is to foster moral and spiritual development alongside intellectual growth.

Statistics:
Enrolment
The general school enrolment figures are on an upward trend for both day and boarder students for the past 3 years. Boarding facility is full with 320 learners, both gender. A total enrolment of 867, comprise of 416 boys and 451 girls.

School Developments


School Dinning Hall
With the assistance of the responsible authority, the school completed a state-of the art Dining hall in 2024 which was opened by The Rt Rev’d Dr Farai Mutamiri on 21 September 2024.
Logistics
To ease the challenges of reliable transportation of participants and goods from and to the school, new vehicles were acquired which include a new Toyota Hilus (GD6) and double axle Asia star school bus. The vehicle landed on 21 September 2024 while the bus was brought to the station on 9th of February 2025.
IT Developments:
In 2024, the school managed to refurbish the Computer laboratory by putting tiles, ceiling and skimming and painting the walls. A wireless (Wi-Fi) facility was installed in April of 2024 with Utande.
Solar Borehole:
To supplement the electric borehole in the school, a solar powered borehole was sunk and erected in 2024. This has a capacity to irrigate the school garden in addition to provision of clean drinking water to the learners and staff for the Mission schools.
The Business Side:
In 2022, the school established the Business Section for various projects which included gardening, poultry, piggery and goat rearing to supplement the boarding provisions and for profit realisation. To date the established projects continue to produce fruits.
